Awesome Dinner In Hamburg

By Isabella Farwell

For a sophisticated fine dining experience to impress a date or client, Tafelhaus Hamburg definitely does the trick. Poised over the Hamburg Harbor, the waterfront restaurant is housed in a futuristic glass edifice right on the water's edge. Sit under the sun on its outdoor terrace or in the comfort of the contemporary interior and expect creative avant-garde cuisine to be delivered in style.

This restaurant, run by Hamburg's famous chef, Christian Rach, is known to be amongst the best in the city for its ambience as well as its food. Rach is a celebrity chef who has often appeared on TV and charmed the audience with his charisma as much as his talent.

Modern Cuisine - Its celebrity chef and stylish interior might steal the limelight, but it's the food that many come for. International cuisine with unique flair - Tafelhaus Hamburg is hallmarked by its new-age, inventive platters. These foods might come in small portions, artfully assembled on stark white plates, but their outrageous flavors are enough to explode in your mouths.

The classy menu of this popular Hamburg restaurant features: crab meat and ricotta, baked pom pom blanc and watercress, and American beef stuffed with sour cream potato and sprinkled with hibiscus sauce. Guests can savour the St. Pierre fillet cooked with Arabic cous as part of main course.

Wine connoisseurs alert! The Tafelhaus has a sprawling wine cellar, home to over 400 types of French and local red and white wine.

Surprisingly, in spite of its reputation and quality, the Tafelhaus is not exorbitant. The cost of a main course dish ranges between 33-36 euros, and an entire four-course menu will cost about 55 euros.

Tapas Cantina - Light tapas are also available at the restaurant's casual bistro, Cantina Milano. This bright and simplistic hangout serves up before-lunch Mediterranean tapas and aperitifs, with a tinge of Asian flavors. Dishes like baked potato with herb sauce, roast pork and spring rolls with carrot dressing are sure to tease your appetite. The cost of platters on the menu cost range from 3 to 6euros. The cantina is only opened from 1pm to 2.30pm from Monday to Friday.

Riverside jubilations - The restaurant's riverside panel serves as a perfect venue for many important events and weddings. The restaurant takes advantage of its beneficial location by the side of placid Elbe River. Even in the regular days, this riverside panel is the perfect spot for some romancing. The long grand tables of the open terrace are decorated with classic white linen and seasonal flowers.

Restaurant Information - Reservations should be made in advance and the restaurant has a formal dress code. Opened from Tuesday to Friday, the restaurant's lunch hours are from 12 noon to 4pm and its dinner hours start at 7pm and ends at midnight. On Saturday, Tafelhaus is only opened for dinner.

An immaculate restaurant that has got every single detail right, Tafelhaus is the crme de le crme in the Hamburg gastronomic world. Whatever your expectations are, Tafelhaus Hamburg will deliver.
